Surrounded by native woodlands, New Lanark World Heritage Site is a former cotton mill founded in 1785 which became famous as the site of Robert Owen’s model community. Now beautifully restored as a living community home to around 200 people and a visitor attraction, the fascinating history of the village is interpreted in an award-winning Visitor Centre.

You can enjoy walks in the surrounding Wildlife Reserve and is ideal for touring, being less than an hour from Glasgow, Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders.
All the facilities of the New Lanark Mill Hotel are only yards away.
